There is more but if you run into problems pm me maybe I can help. Carefully read the instructions so you understand how the sniper scope works, and why. On the top right corner of the mount looking at it from the back is a screw which is called a binder screw make sure this screw is just tight or snug not real tight so you don't strip your micrometer threads out, when you turn the thimbles they should turn crisply but not hard to turn. The Leatherwood scope wears the same type of markings as did the original Unertl WWII Marine sniper scope. The micrometer mounts read like a micrometer so you can easily return to your settings. The stock has been replaced and I put a 1940s civilian Unertl scope on it for now. Some time after WWII it went through a arsenal rebuild. It was rebarreled at the end of the 1941 season and then converted to a sniper post January 1943. Don't forget to record the setting it is now on which is probably your 100 setting. It was most likely was sent to the Marine Corps in the 1937 shipment of 150 national match rifles. First adjust the parallx setting on 200 yds which is also infinity, then look thru at a nice blue sky w/ white clouds and screw the eyepiece in and out until the reticule is very clear and black, then lock the eyepiece, then adjust parallax. I’m curious if you can help me figure out if it was some type of arsenal mock up after the fact, or the product of a hobbyist tinkering/cloning. That said, the barrel is marked USMC 1-44.
The parallax settings are a guide but usually vary a couple of numbers (yours is probably set 100 yds from trail and error). I do not think it is an original USMC sniper variant of the 1903 from WWII, in part because the scope is a 10x Unertl vs 8x Unertl. Mount this scope on the receiver and out on the barrel w/ proper heighths standard cup target bases 7.2" inches apart (then you will have 1/4 moa adjustments) of your heavy barrel varmint rifle or long range deer rifle and you will probably never replace it.
